Linux Debian

Installing FreeGuide on Debian

Note: the version of FreeGuide in Debian is very out of date. If you would like to help package FreeGuide for Debian and Ubuntu, please Contact Us.

Recent versions of FreeGuide are usually in "unstable", but there are versions in "testing" and "stable" too. Unstall it like so:

su -c "apt-get install freeguide"

You can now run FreeGuide by choosing it from the menu or alternatively by typing into a terminal:

freeguide

You'll now need to answer a few questions, and then you're ready to go.

If you use a proxy server (if you don't know, you probably don't), you'll need to read this page: Configure Proxy On Linux.

Get the very latest

If you'd like to download the very latest version of FreeGuide instead of using the one packaged by your distribution (not recommended), you can download various packages from the sourceforge download page.
