Why were you not sane. Oh, that means you are a muse! Thanks for the inspiration.

I believe I am to blame for the conversation as I was talking to Bernie about her fav drink.

I've only just come across this and the stuff way back - will add my offer for listening ear should you ever need it D. (And while I think of it I think I've called you Dan somewhere on here and it was accidental... oops!) And whether you want to chat or not you should mail me cos I've lost your email address (AGAIN!) and so I can't mail you.

And I work for a church and I periodically think it's all a load of rubbish and what on earth am I doing kidding myself that the stuff I spout at the kids I'm with is all worth it. Though lately have found that it's the only thing that's worth it - been a tough week. And I'm rambling. But I will be back soon to talk a little more sense..... maybe!

That's the kindest thing anyone's said to me for a long time

Och, don't worry, I didn't think you meant it personally. I chose it cos I thought it looked appealingly approachable and laid back (or comatose) [qualities I obviously look for in a friend or wish I had myself], but I dare say it could also be looking down its non-existent nose. Just goes to show, doesn't it, that you can't judge by appearances alone... Yours on the other hand...

Talking of noses, I wasn't sane because of the cold I've had for 2 weeks which made me feel like there wasn't much between my ears. My nose ran from Friday night till this morning, 3 nights running in fact, which drove me up the wall as I couldn't sleep or do anything. So I'm just starting to feel more human today (and hopefully less random). At least this time round I'm not the only person I know who's had the same thing for two weeks. I just hope that Asian virus doesn't get me...

BTW I noticed your user info links to dudestudios.com. Totally unconnectedly, a bizarre acquaintance of mine has a hand in a website called http://www.the-dudes.com He's drawn a random story called "The Dude comics" at http://www.the-dudes.com/news.htm If you think that's strange, you should read his poetry...

>A blue world... reading too much into it?

I hadn't thought of that. That's truer than you know... I'll let davidb have the pleasure of elaborating on HCKim's poetry, if he likes. As for the tee-shirt - product development seems to have hit a rocky patch. I'll ask HCKim next time I see him (maybe).

"The readers will surely be moved by fabulous poems that they could identify with in one way or another."

>Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks - I feel a lot better today. Just come over to the department to talk to my supervisor, who's just about feeling normal again. Then I was the subject of a phonetics experiment for someone who's got even worse RSI of the nose than I have, and then we talked rubbish for a while - or I did, at least. So I'm a bit spaced out, but at least I've got my energy back.

Yes, I am.

Why are you looking so sad/blue? Is it the mention of a blue world?

Midge, Have you read the weekly poem Autumn Sunshine? I'm not Froid but....

I dunno maybe it's me that is sexually oppressed (depressed) but that is screaming recent experience or inevitable future.

How does Cambridge make you feel, Alice? I spent 7 years there, and whenever I go back I normally loathe the place. I'm not sure why - I think it's remembering all the horrible times I had there... On the other hand, I visited a fortnight ago and quite enjoyed it.

HCKim's poetry is very provocative, on various subjects. He did a series of poems last year where he used Galatians in a very anti modern Israel way (I'm pro-Palestinian, but I felt he was bordering on the antisemitic). Recently he's been doing some rather disturbing suggestive poems - one I remember was going on about dogs barking at night, indulging in sadomasochism... Odd.

Yes, "indulging in unspeakable sado-masochistic acts". "Don't they need a glass of water?" and the last line was something like "Maybe it's just me who's hearing barking" - but the first time I read it I missed out the word "hearing". I get the impression that he's on LSD when he writes these poems, but I can't believe he really is.

>I think it's remembering all the horrible times I had there...

I'm flattered...

>No, it's the mention of Cambridge.

Can you expand on that?
